Dianne CrabtreeI was born in Rupert, Idaho and moved to Utah when I was almost 10 years old. I have lived in many places across the Wasatch Front from Sandy to Ogden.  My husband, Neil, and I have three daughters and one son, ranging in age from 24 to 19. Our children are very creative, independent, and adventurous; I love their uniqueness and individuality. They certainly make my life more enjoyable.

For the current school year, I will be teaching 7th and 8th grade Language Arts. In the past, I have taught Spanish (level 1) to middle school students, and English as a Second Language (ESL) at Weber State University and Southpointe High School. I have a bachelor's degree in English and a master of education degree.

Crabtree FamilyAlthough I am not talented musically, I love music. My musical taste is very eclectic, not usually music that you'd hear on the radio. I enjoy listening to music in other languages such as Spanish, Italian, and French. My family probably thinks I do this just to irritate them!

I like to hike, but I almost hesitate to admit this because I don't do it as often as I used to. I have had the pleasure of hiking many great trails in Utah. I love the beauty of Utah; there are so many wonderful places to visit. I am lucky to have a few adventurous friends and family members who tell me about their escapades throughout Utah and other places. Since I'm a chicken at heart, I am always happy to hear about their adventures and participate in them vicariously. Perhaps some of these adventures will make their way into future novels.

Zions National ParkI have loved to write stories and poetry since I was very young. On the Road to Royalty is my first novel. It began as a short story that I wrote for a fiction-writing class when I was in college, and it slowly grew and evolved and went through many changes before it was published in March 2005. My second novel, Chocolate Therapy, was published in May 2006.

For me, the best part of publishing a novel has been meeting and corresponding with readers and other authors. So please email me with any questions, comments, or observations you may have.
